Strange New Animal Baffles Scientists

The scientific world was turned topsy-turvy with the discovery of a hitherto unknown species of yellow-breasted black-wing thrush. "This particular species has a greenish-red breast, and a distinctly orange wing," explained noted ^C1 ornithologist Snerd Kabong at a hastily called news conference. "In all other respects, it’s a yellow-breasted black-wing thrush. Well, plus it’s not a thrush. It’s a pheasant."

"Small wonder they’re baffled in ^C1," the General Manager of Avian Fiduciary Affairs Horace Maglue commented. "It’s more a finch than a pheasant. Frankly, I question Mr. Kabong’s credentials." Mr. Kabong replied that he had no credentials to question, but did admit that he may have had a tad too much of his great aunt’s green olive brandy to steady his nerves.
