Citizen Wins Useless Prize

^C1 resident Cheryl Aber thought her ship had come in, literally, when she was announced, on national television, a grand winner in Sergenford Nautical’s "Give Us A Slogan" contest. "Sergenford -- Our Boats Float" was Cheryl’s winning entry. She was presented with her prize, a seventy-five-foot Grand Royal Yacht.

Then her dream turned to reality as she learned that ^C1 didn’t have a marina, and she’d have an hour-and-a-half drive before she could use the boat. "It’s ridiculous," the plucky seventy-two-year-young switchboard operator (ret.) said, fighting back tears. "You don’t know how important a marina is, until all of a sudden something like this happens, and then it’s too late.
