New Power Demonstrates Great Potential

Scientists and civic leaders gathered in Bentley, Oregon for the christening of the Upstate and Sheboygan Nuclear Power Facility, affectionately named "Mighty Mike" by the plant employees. Company Spokesperson Margaret Mulrue was cautious in her statements before the Perry Valley Cherry and Apple Committee.

"The potential is great," she said, "and the responsibility is great. This is one exit in a very long journey. It's a long way between here and there. There's no map, and not many roads. Rest stops are few and far between, and poorly attended. It's dark at night, and sometimes oncoming drivers don't lower their hi-beams. Detours signs are stolen as souvenirs by out of state tourists. But you keep driving anyway, at least until you run out of gas."
