Old Power Plant Might Blow

Burning debris may fill the early morning skies as "Old Macaroon," ^C1’s oldest power plant, falls to the city budget crunch. "We keep it going with bubblegum and kite string," plant manager Orvill Hyde said, "but when a plant’s time comes, that’s it. Boom." Old Macaroon was so named by the plant’s employees on opening day, when the distinct odor of coconut cookies wafted through the ventilation system, making everyone hungry throughout the entire first shift. The name stuck, the odor remained, and despite repeated attempts, the source of the delicious-though-puzzling aroma was never found. How the loss of this power plant will affect power consumption in ^C1 is not yet known, but it can’t help.
