^C1's Prisons Filled To Bursting

An ominous feeling has pervaded the air of ^C1 for the past few months, and most citizens point to the swelling doors of the local prisons for the source of the uneasiness. "Yeah, I go by there on my daily jogs," said Farnsworth Q. Silverstrip, referring to the town's biggest prison, Old Home Place. "I can hear them in there, laughing as though they were going to be out on the streets tomorrow. And who's to say they aren't?"

Penal authorities have admitted that they are running well above capacity, but downplay any threat of a breakout. "Jeepers, most of them are in here because it's the best food in town, and our checker boards are top-notch," said Warden Stufshirt of "The Place," as it's affectionately called. "They wouldn't leave if I asked them," he added.
