^C1 Jugglers On To National Meet

The rabid fans of the ^C1 Monkey Mitts, the local semipro juggling team, gave the club a royal sendoff at the county airport today. Nearly four fans (and a beagle) showed up for the 4 pm flight to Toledo, where the Juggernaut Juggling Nationals are held once every decade.

This is the Mitts first appearance in a National; they outjugged the Lodi Lungepluckers for the state title last Tuesday in El Paso, Texas. All of the Mitts members--two of which are City Council members--came up from the ranks of amateur athletes, though they have been juggling city finances on a professional basis for years. The Book Cooking Contest is scheduled for later in the month.
