Eruption Causes Mess

Many of ^C1’s streets got an unwanted resurfacing as a volcano long thought to be dormant erupted under the Cormano Marshmallow Plant. "It was always warm in the basement," plant owner Roberto Cormano said, "but we didn’t think anything of it. If we had known that it was active, we would have probably built the plant across the street."

^C1 residents are taking the eruption in stride. Dick Shonary, President of the ^C1 Volcano Enthusiasts, has samples of every eruption for the past sixty-seven years. "It’s just nature’s way of saying ‘Caution: Filling may still be hot,’" he added.
